The Vodou Archive is a branch of the University of Florida Digital Library that houses documents, photographs, video files, and audio files pertaining to Haitian religion and Haitian culture. The goal of the archive is to curate and share the sources of Vodou religion and culture. The founders of the archive, Benjamin Hebblethwaite and Laurent Dubois, received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in 2012 to expand the archive in order to “improve the understanding of a central Haitian and Haitian-American spiritual tradition, the Vodou religion.”
The purpose of this site is to share research pertaining to the reality of Haitian Vodou with people who would like to learn. We hope to elucidate readers and viewers with an honest depiction of a culture that is misunderstood by many.
