Translating Ati Max Beauvoir

Max Beauvoir, a well-known oungan, released a book of Vodou songs a few years ago. During Dr. Hebblethwaite’s recent trip to Haiti, he had the chance to meet Max Beauvoir for an interview and he received permission to begin translating the songs to publish an English version of the book.
University of Florida students Tahiri Jean-Baptiste and Megan Raitano are assisting Dr. Hebblethwaite with the translations.
The Archive now has transcriptions and translations of an interview Max Beauvoir gave on the site. You can access them here: part 1, part 2, and part 3. Additionally, the footage from Dr. Hebblethwaite’s interview of Ati Beauvoir from his trip to Haiti in April of 2013 can be accessed here.
